Dear Friend of Non-Event, Thank you for coming to one of our many shows this year, and thank you for continuing to support Non-Event. As we look back at the nearly 30 shows we presented in 2010, we also look forward to 2011, which will mark Non-Event's tenth anniversary! For the last decade, Non-Event has been one of the main supporters and presenters of new and experimental music in Boston. We want to ensure that Non-Event will be able to make these types of concerts happen in the city for many years to come. But our financial situation is insecure. So as we mark this auspicious occasion, we are mounting a major fund-raising drive, and asking you to help sustain Non-Event into the next decade by making a contribution. In 2011, we're planning an exciting series of shows featuring artists we've wanted to work with for years, and we're putting together a big party to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Your invitation and more information about this grand event will be coming shortly. Currently, we rely solely on ticket sales, partnerships with institutions such as the Goethe-Institut, and above all, individual contributions from people like you. Our staff is entirely volunteer, and all our funds go directly to supporting artists and putting on concerts. In 2011, we plan to make Non-Event a full-fledged nonprofit. Your donation now will fund not just a couple of shows in 2011, but will help us cover the legal fees associated with filing for non-profit status, which in turn will help Non-Event achieve long-term financial self-sufficiency. So please give generously to help Non-Event keep new and experimental music happening in Boston.
