7 p.m. /$5
Rare performance by two of New England’s more intrepid and strange musical figures, FOOM (turntables) and (Arkm) Foam (tapes, electronics, odd ‘n’ ends), whose languid music recalls the work of classic, early L.A.F.M.S. “By using previously recorded sounds as source, [Foom & Foam] eradicate both the ability and the necessity of trying to identify the instruments or objects producing the noise here. These are just sounds, freed from their original sonic context by the initial act of recording, now existing as naught-but-signals, to be interpreted by our brains as they see fit to interpret them.” {Byron Coley]
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Brookline Commission for the Arts and the Boston Cultural Council, both local agencies which are funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The Boston Cultural Council is administrated by the Mayor’s Office of Arts + Culture.
