The Support Series is an ongoing series of online fundraisers in support of social & racial justice organizations. This month we are raising money and support for BAGLY (Boston Alliance for LGBTQ+ Youth), a youth-led, adult-supported social support organization, committed to social justice and creating, sustaining, and advocating for programs, policies, and services for the LGBTQ+ youth community.
We you encourage you to learn more about BAGLY and their amazing array of programs, including mental & behavioral health services, a health clinic, trainings & workshops, and youth leadership development – and DONATE
About the artists
BUZZ is dancer/choreographer Jessica Roseman and saxophonist and composer Jorrit Dijkstra, who have been collaborating improvisationally in Boston since 2017. In their socially distanced version of “Buzz: Improvised Duets for Dance and Saxophone,” Roseman and Dijkstra explore the audio and self care aesthetics of ASMR YouTubers. Playing with the frameworks and intimacy of Zoom, Roseman and Dijkstra consider what it means to make connections from afar.
VICTORIA CHEAH (b. 1988, New York, NY) is a multi-disciplinary composer interested in boundaries, sustained energy, and social/performance rituals. Cheah has taught music, research, and writing related courses as an instructor at Longy School of Music, Brandeis University, and as a teaching fellow at Harvard University while completing her doctorate in music composition & theory at Brandeis University. She currently serves as the production manager of Talea Ensemble and a co-director of Score Follower.
