About the artists
GREG KELLEY (trumpet) has performed throughout North America, Europe, Japan, Argentina & Mexico at numerous festivals, in clubs, outdoors, in living rooms, in a bank, and at least once on a vibrating floor. He has collaborated with a number of musicians across the globe performing experimental music, free jazz and noise, appearing on over 100 recordings in the process.
MARY STAUBITZ (Donna Parker) and RUSS WATERHOUSE (ex Blues Control) met in May of 2019 on Tinder and started making music together about a month after that. They make field recordings which are sometimes edited, but often not, and play found objects and a tiny synthesizer.
Separately, they have performed at festivals and venues such as Lincoln Center, Hotel Vernon, High Zero, Cropped Out, Bach to the Future, and (inside a cage at) Jacques' Cabaret; and have released music on labels like Twisted Village, Drag City, RRR, Open Mouth, Qbico, and White Tapes.
In 2020 Staubitz and Waterhouse released their debut single on Gertrude Tapes, comprised of recordings made at Shanghai Gardens and Purgatory Chasm; later this year they will be releasing a new album Common Metals on Ongoing Discipline. They have also started self releasing related projects on their new label Music Is The Worst.
