About the artist
Still House Plants are a Glasgow and South London-based group made up of Jess Hickie-Kallenbach (vocals), Finlay Clark (guitar), and David Kennedy (drums). From a barebones set-up, they create fractious, sharp music with a melting pop heart, combining elements of sampling, slowcore, free improvisation, and UK garage. The three members met at the Glasgow School of Art and have releases on Glarc, Bison, BYM, and Blank Forms Editions. This will be their first Boston show.
NxCx is an experimental improv sound duo of Sam Gas Can & Abdul Hamid Sherzai from central & western Massachusetts. The two employ electronics and acoustic instruments to present a sound that intersects minimalism, komische, ambient, and noise. After playing their first show on New Year's Eve 2010, the group immediately went on hiatus for the better part of a decade, returning on New Year's Day 2018.
