About the artists
Carl Testa (New Haven) and Rachel Devorah (Boston) shape synthesized textures and original samples into a sonic structure spacialized for the stereo field remotely in real time with live coding in SuperCollider, Troop, and Hydra (all open source).
CARL TESTA is a multi-instrumentalist and composer at the intersection of improvised music, jazz, electronics, experimental music, and new media. As a performer/improviser, he is equally comfortable on string bass, electronics, lighting, and combinations thereof.
RACHEL DEVORAH ROME is a sonic artist and feminist technologist. Her work seeks to reveal and reframe habits of autoecholocation (situating one’s self with/in sound/space). She is an Assistant Professor of Electronic Production and Design/Creative Coding at the Berklee College of Music.
