The Support Series is an monthly series of online fundraisers to raise money for and awareness of local social & racial justice organizations. This month, we're urging people to donate to the North American Indian Center of Boston (NAICOB). The North American Indian Center of Boston has provided cultural, social, educational, and professional related services to the New England Native American community for 50 years. As the oldest urban Indian center in Massachusetts, the center's mission is to empower the Native American community with the goal of improving the quality of life for Indigenous peoples.

We encourage you to learn more about the North American Indian Center of Boston and make a donation, if you can.

This is the seventh of our monthly online concerts to raise awareness and money for social change. Each event will raise money for a different organization working for social and racial justice in Boston and beyond.

About the artists
JESSE KENAS COLLINS works with brass and woodwind instruments as well as simple systems of analog feedback. Working and living in Boston since 2008, he collaborates in various ad hoc groupings of improvisers in and around town. His solo works are funneled into small editions of recordings and occasional live performances.

RACHEL DEVORAH ROME is a sonic artist and feminist technologist. Her work seeks to reveal and reframe habits of autoecholocation (situating one’s self with/in sound/space). She is an Assistant Professor of Electronic Production and Design/Creative Coding at the Berklee College of Music.

Integrating saxophone, flute, feedback and electronics, electroacoustic pioneer and dedicated improvisor BONNIE KANE describes her work as avant-core: an extreme energy mix of psychedelic rock, hardcore, and avant-garde jazz. She has toured nationally and worldwide, performing extensively throughout the Eastern US. Her bands have been lauded for their “feats of bravery”, and for creating music that is “…the algebra of heart, brain, and soul.” A conductor of energy, her music is not for the timid.

SOPHIE SHELY is a musician, sound designer, producer, and video artist from Portland, Oregon who uses electronic-based music in conjunction with visual media and immersive spatialized audio to craft impactful emotional experiences. Sophie is a recent graduate from Berklee College of Music, from which she received a degree in Electronic Production and Design. Her work often centers on themes of love and loss, as well as the ephemerality of space, time, and identity.

DOUGLAS URBANK, based in Boston, Massachusetts, is an artist with a background in sculpture and drawing who began to experiment with filmmaking in 2008. His short films have screened in festivals and curated programs nationally and internationally. He is a founding member of the AgX filmmakers collective, established in 2015. He is also a member of of Fort Point Theatre Channel, an independent theater company bringing together an ensemble of artists from the worlds of theater, music, and visual arts. Between 2001 and 2013 he was regular host of a radio program devoted to experimental, improvisational, and other unconventional music and sound art.
